The Reveal

I know many of you thought it would be a boy and a few of you thought a girl. This being our first baby, we were really hoping for a boy and I knew deep down it would be.
We are so grateful to have had family and friends join us in our gender reveal Saturday afternoon.  Thank you all for making that surprise very special.  All ten of us crammed into the sonogram room and everyone guessed boy except for my dad who really wanted a girl.  The ultrasound was now being displayed on a big screen TV, with much anticipation.... "there is one leg and here is the other and if you can see right here you should be able to figure out the rest...(with the mouse pointing at the little rice kernel)"
Everyone cheered with excitement. Our wishes had come true, it was a BOY!
His name will be
♥ Ryder ♥
Here are a few 4D images
Ryder "the rocker" Wilson
or
Ryder "the boxer" Wilson
I think he is going to look exactly like his daddy.
We love him already ♥
At the time of the ultrasound I was told I have a anterior placenta, which is not very common but not unusual.  This means that I won't feel the baby kick until later in my pregnancy. Essentially, there a cushion between the baby and my tummy. There are no health risks when this happens and the placenta should move to the top by the time the baby is ready to deliver.
We are hoping to update with the progress of the nursery next!

Pre Gender Reveal

Boy or Girl?

I would like to give you a brief then and now story of my husband, Justin and I.  We met sophomore year in high school and had the same group of friends.  Our friendship continued until graduation and ended shortly after with no plans to keep in contact.  Until one day we reconnected with the power of social media and began catching up on the years past.  After dating for some time Justin proposed and we were to be married in September.  We chose a vintage chic wedding theme and it was the most memorable day of our lives.  With family and friends by our side, we wouldn't ask for a more perfect day.

After being married for six month we received even more great news!
We are expecting a baby this December!

At this time I am currently 18 weeks along and feeling great!  I have gained six pounds so far and I am hungrier than ever.  We are anxiously awaiting for next week’s 4D ultrasound were we will get to know the gender of our baby.  We cannot wait to share the news with you!  If you would like to guess what we are having please vote below in the comments section.

Any moms or mommy’s-to-be experience turning vegetarian while pregnant?  Since we found out we were expecting I have not been able to eat meat, especially red meat.  Having a few bites of chicken is about all I can handle and anymore I am instantly nauseous.  Any advice or vegetarian recipes you ladies would like to share?

We can’t wait to update you next week with exciting news! Don’t forget to vote below!

Kale Chips

In our house we have kale chips pretty frequently.  Instead of chips these are a healthy alternative!
Caution: These are addicting - I can eat an entire sheet to myself.

Preheat oven to 300 degrees
Prep Kale by washing and patting dry
You will need:
1 bunch of Kale
2 tablespoons (more if you like it really spicy) Sriracha Sauce
1 tablespoon Himalayan Salt
1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Make sure Kale is completely dry
Remove kale from stalks (ribs) and tear 1 ½ inch pieces
Place kale pieces into bowl add Sriracha, Salt and EVOO
Mix by hand to make sure all pieces are covered in mix. I always add more Sriracha especially if I get a large bundle.
Place Kale leaves on baking sheet so there are no pieces touching (they will be soggy if they overlap)
Bake for 20-25 minutes; rotating the sheet at the half way point.

Enjoy!
