Mommy Day's

We joined a mom group!

Our recent move to Denver left us not knowing anyone.  Joining a mom group has been a great way to meet local moms and to get my bearings on the town.  They like to use the MeetUp app and it is really easy to use. Moms in the group post activities a few times a week.  I have been to two so far and the ladies are very kind and welcoming.

Here we are at a nearby splash park. He really enjoyed playing in the water.

Ryder is becoming more active by the day and making lunch is becoming difficult.
I made this yummy lunch the other day and it was filling, healthy and easy to put together.
Carrots, Broccoli, Bell Peppers, Garlic Hummus
Green Apple & Peanut Butter
Roast Turkey and Avocado

If you ladies are new to your town or a SAHM I would suggest searching for mommy groups! If you need some adult socializing or playmates for your child, it's a great way to go!

Have a great week ladies!

Family Time Adventures

We checked out 16th Street in downtown Denver this weekend.
It was a little hot and by a little hot I mean 99 degrees. Thankfully Ryder was napping while we strolled the street, looking at all of the handmade vendors and live music.

Not having any plans on where to eat, we came across a burger place called 5280 Burger Bar.  It was delicious! We ordered their Ahi Nachos to start, I ordered the wedge burger and the hubby ordered the Ring of Fire burger.

I thought it would be a good idea to try out a high chair for the first time and he loved it.
While we were dining, Ryder decided it would be a good day to feed himself for the first time!

I usually purchase the Puffs Graduates but, I came across the Target brand Up & Up Puffs which are heart shaped and easier for him to eat.  I usually have to break the Graduates that are star shaped in half because they get stuck to the roof of his mouth. He seems to prefer the Up & Up flavors too.

We also tried out our local rec center and Ryder took his first swim!
He really enjoyed floating in the lazy river with us and splashing.  They have a zero entry at this pool where we sat in inch deep water with him. My husband and I took turns going down the water slides which was really fun too.

Hope you ladies had a great weekend!

7 Months and on the move

This guy is going to be on the move any day now. Ryder does not want to be held like a baby anymore and I am coming to terms he isn't going to be a baby forever. He is reaching out to touch everything; anything and everything.
Trying to have a meal without him on my lap almost never happens. I don't mind it either... I just have to remember to order something that doesn't need much knife work. I love this little guy so much!

Recently we discovered his first dislike in food - bananas. I thought to myself, my son doesn't like bananas! This is an outrage (I love bananas!), so we tried mixing with apples and other fruits. He still doesn't want anything to do with it and will literally spit it out. I guess we will try them again at a later time.

As most of you know we move to Colorado and are loving it.  It was quite the challenge packing the house with a baby but, we made it happen without too much chaos.

My husband drove the Uhaul with the dogs and I flew out with Ryder a day later.  Our flight was delayed three hours and it actually worked out perfectly for feeding and gate time. We flew with United Air and they were very accommodating.  I was the first to board the flight and got to our seats without breaking a sweat. We did have someone sit next to us and thankfully a parent who would understand if Ryder got upset. There was a seat open between us which gave us a little bit of elbow room. It was much needed let me tell you... Waiting in line on the runway I was feeding Ryder snacks to keep him occupied and calm. I had a bottle ready, by the way the premixed formula is the way to go when traveling. As soon as I heard the roar of the plane I got him ready to have a bottle and when he finished it he slept the entire flight. I am pretty sure I have been given the easiest baby ever.

Trying to wear him out before the flight.
Quick diaper check before take off.

Slept like this the entire flight.

Here we are on our morning walks.

He loves to splash when it's bath time and play with everything that is not a toy.

He is thinking about crawling but, it more interested in rolling over.

We went explored Boulder last weekend and it was beautiful!

Hubby & Ry
I cannot get enough of these two.

Ryder | Month Six

My sweet sweet boy is growing quickly before our eyes. Will you please slow down?
Six months has flown by and I cannot believe it!

He is so handsome and strong.

Rolling from front to back & back to front is a piece of cake for you now.

Sitting up is a must these days... you demand it.  You don't want to miss a thing! When I lay you down to sleep you wake up in a completely different position than what I left you.

Ducky is your favorite toy at the moment.

You love bath time.

You were on a boat for the first time.

Your first word was "Dada" and you blabber it all day.

Happy 1st Father's Day to my hubby!

My little nugget, handsome, bubba, Ryder Hayden... I love you more than you know.

Ryder's 4 Month Update

Four months - where has the time gone!

He loves "flying" and standing with help.

The Bumbo is a favorite these days. He is sitting up and wanting to play.

We hiked Torrey Pines last weekend and I can tell he's already a daddy's boy.

He is already a character.

We have an unspoken agreement to face out on walks. He doesn't want to miss a thing.

Having lunch with family at Bali Hai.

Here we are at Kellogs Beach.

Our dogs have figured out that he's not going anywhere and may as well embrace him. =)

Four months have flown by!
He is still easy to please and sleeping through the night (8:30pm-7:00am).
Drooling has started and bibs are a must these days.

I love this little man so much! Yay for a happy and healthy baby!

Ryder is 3 Months!

Our little man is 3 months!!
Time has really flown by...

He is all smiles.
Kicking and doing push-ups are his exercises of choice lately.  He is also trying to suck his thumb.

He is much happier sitting up these days.  If he is laying down he will grab your fingers to pull himself up and he will smile/giggle.

My sister was watching him last week and she captured this great shot of him!

My little newborn is now an infant.  He is still sleeping 9 hours at night... I couldn't be happier.
He enjoys watching Curious George and Winnie the Pooh on the tablet while sitting in the highchair. Its time to break out that amber necklace we have for him... he is becoming a drool monster.

His attention span is becoming greater and loves to be read to.

Today is his first day of daycare! I hope he misses me as much as I will miss him. He is in great hands, I just hope he remembers me!

Hope you all had a great weekend.
